My all time favourite Bollywood movie!
Every aspect shone with skill and talent - impeccable casting, breath taking sets, opulent costumes, the character study, a sound track that to this day evokes an emotional response, Hamesha Thum Ko Chaha and Dev's theme still brings tears to my eyes, the list is endless. This could easily have been just another run of the mill 'drunk pining for his lost love' plot line, a horse that has been so flogged to death at this point that it's just a smear on the road, but Sanjay Leela Bansali did it again. He took an ordinary story, made it so emotionally epic and yet still so relevant. I really love this movie and the fact that he allowed the ending to remain as a tragedy like so many people face in reality just makes it all the more poignant. I watched this movie in 2002, it's almost 20 years later and I'm still finding new aspects that take my breath away. Love, love, love will absolutely recommend to anyone.
