As an 11 year old who has seen this movie accidentally when I was 3 or four, I can say that it messed me up somehow. I was having strange nightmares about a blood covered field and a roof covered with bones. We are also reading this book at my school currently and I was having major anxiety during the violent chapter “the shining wire.” Terrifying. Disturbing. Not a child friendly movie. I think it’s an alright story, but not all it’s cracked up to be.
