*SPOILERS*
Campaign:
I am not a diehard CoD fan, but the campaign is great with plenty of twists - though many of them you can see from a mile away. The level of detail in the mission design is awesome. For sensitive players there are two levels in this game that have horror elements so if you don't like feeling anxiety or experiencing jump scares this campaign may not be for you. I was able to get through the levels, but I can see where some will not be able to. Those levels are "Emergence" and "Separation Anxiety". Separation Anxiety is less scary than Emergence but there are still some horror elements with chilling ambience and music.
Two missions that stood out to me were Emergence which *SPOILERS* is a mission where your gas mask breaks and you breath in gas that makes you have hallucinations. The mission takes about 45 minutes and you fight waves of zombies and 5 bosses including a 3-headed abomination, a creepy mannequin that you have to chase down, a heavy armored zombie that you fight while hordes of regular zombies continue to pour into the room, an amalgam which acts like a prop-hunt fight, and finally this zombie that can float around like a witch from Destiny 2. The mission can be horrifying with your flashlight failing and plenty of jump scares. There are also phones that ring and you must answer them, and it is chilling. Dark hallways, screaming, footsteps, creepy ambience, it has it all.
The other mission that stood out to me was simply a heist mission in a casino. There isn't much to say about this -- play it for yourself and you'll see why it stands out. It's a classic Casino heist you would see in a movie that ends in you breaking into a vault and then escaping. I had such a fun time with this mission.
Bonus: There is a Little Caesars in one of the missions and I thought that was amusing even if it is just product placement lol.
Zombies:
The zombies mode is great - return to round-based zombies with great maps and gameplay. I don't play this mode a whole lot but we ran till round 25 and I had no problems with it. Zombie players will love this, people I have played with are saying it is the best in years and reminds them of better times. Some of the easter eggs have been great too such as the raining zombies easter egg.
Multiplayer:
OK here is where the review lost 1 star. The multiplayer has been OK for the most part but after 4 or 5 hours of playing it just got boring. It is the same old multiplayer with nothing really added. Omni-movement was a cool concept but after the novelty wore off it's the same multiplayer you've always played. And for a Black Ops game the multiplayer sure feels like MWII & MWIII and not how Black Ops has felt in the past. I haven't encountered any cheaters and glitches have been minimal (all graphical glitches).
