I have always loved History of all kinds. Henry Louis Gates Jr. is a warm, compassionate man who makes a wonderful host for this show. His knowledge of the African Slave Experience is huge. Thanks to people like him that part of history is well written an preserved in our history books. I am curious to see if he has any intention of doing a program on the "Irish Slave Experience" that started in the 1600's and lasted about 300 years? Their suffering was just as great, but it is a subject that was never taught in schools when I was growing up. And is very seldom mentioned. My DNA suggests that I am about half Irish decent and I had never heard about this until a few years ago. I am 74 now. The things that were done to the Irish were just as horrendous and discusting as the African Slave Experience. Please consider a program on this topic. Henry Louis Gates Jr. is the right man host such a program in an honest, humane and compassionate way. I love "Finding Your Roots". Keep up the good work. We need ALL our history preserved.
