my childhood fever dream.. i love it

this movie has a great concept, but the character decisions are terrible. I stopped paying attention to the movie when one of our main protagonist starts to stalk the murderer with a stupid motive.

Obviously the CG effects and the animations are gorgeous, I can’t praise that enough. The screenplay was somewhere between good and great. Direction was amazing. I love how they included cameos from the previous movie “Your Name”. Good comments aside, there’re some aspects in this movie is just not right for me, and here’s the things i’ve noticed so far. (spoilers) -You lost a female protagonist before the climax and got her back before the credits roll. It worked on “Your Name”, I have no idea why or at least cannot explain why it worked. But it did not worked for me in this movie “Weathering with you”, the most I can feel is to smile. -I’m a sucker for originality (the good ones) -Just as I was writing this review, I just noticed that the male protagonist lost his female protagonist twice, then got her back twice. That applied with “your name”. -I don’t like how coincidental things are in “weathering with u”. Things just happen for the sake for happening, it just isn’t realistic. Sure I can get by a few coincidences, I don’t mind. But you CAN actually count how many there were in this movie, for me it’s distracting. I get it.. people are mostly light minded. but for the ones that aren’t, they are gonna have a hard time moving along with the story. -Characters. How many? -Why did I wait so long for it to come out to blu-ray just to disappoint me? Safe to say, I probably won’t be going back rewatching this movie, unlike what I did by rewatching “your name” 6 times already. Though I could probably go back to some gorgeous scenes to take screenshots to set as wallpapers and that’s it. This is by all means a bad movie. Those are just flaws in the movie that I find disappointing, but i’m sure most people can get by, “rotten tomatoes score” seemed to agree with the majority too. I left a thumbs up at the google user review by the way, so please don’t hunt me down if you have some disagreements.

Is there any reason this show should exist? If so then for what purpose? If you are a very simple minded person then I probably recommend watching. If you are those who are in to character development and story progression then 10/10 not recommend watching. I remember when I was 12, watching this on CartoonNetwork, I remember having the feeling of my time being wasted. Though I do ironically watch it sometimes because non of my favorite shows were on air, though I remember I did had a bit of fun watching this show... only *IF* you managed to turn your logical decision making brain off.

My English isn't very good, because of that I will not write an essay review but I'll leave some key features that I like regarding to this show. - Most characters aims are vague at first, but their story will be explained afterwards (in a surprisingly logical manner). - Made for people who likes solid character structure, like why the character does what the character does, what the character thinks, feels, desires, and hates, backstory, and/or how the character sees the world. - Consistent art and animation. The art style isn't too wacky, I find it quite fitting for the type of story like this. Some of the scenes are intimidating sometimes but it does add a bit of charm to it, (not for children under 4). - Appeals to a more mature audience. And for things I wish this show have: - Longer ending. *Spoilers* The happy ending for this show is quite short, only lasted 4 minutes. I can't recommend this show enough, you absolutely shouldn't pass this one up, 9.8/10.

i sat beside a female and she screamed throughout most jumpscares. the movie don't really scares me, but her scream... man she almost gave a heart attack😑
