Spoiler-Free review:
Still a strong, albeit somewhat unrealistic story about a hero named Forrest Gump.
As a piece of art, I think the whole film is telling us to look at the world from a different perspective. We don't have to dramatize what's considered normal. We don't have to take credit even if we deserve so.
The humor especially is so thin layered, It's saying a lot about those who complain about any lack of humor. Humor also doesn't have to be explosive.
Humor can be subbtle too.
This movie is full of these little nuances.
I know the movie can be a bit too slow sometimes for some people, But pay attention as there's definitely something of value to find for anyone who's watching.
Extra credits to the amazing special effects used here.
I recommend everyone to look up a behind the scenes. You will not believe what trickery happened right in front of your eyes. The power of "old-school" practical effects in full use!
Oh and extra "special" but otherwise very normal and well-deserved credits to Tom Hanks. What a performance!
If a movie can do all this even after all these years, It's a masterpiece!
