THE TIMELINE MAKES NO SENSE!! I'm giving the movie 3 stars. It should be 4 maybe even 5. Great movie, I think it really provides people with a view of what many ex cons go through with discrimination in social life and finding jobs. Sandra Bullock is fantastic most of the acting is great as well with the supporting cast. The part that bothers me the most is the time line. It makes absolutely ZERO sense. So her sister who's was 5 at the time Sandra bullock goes to prison, so she would be 25 when she gets out because I'm the movie it says she did 20 years. If her sister is 25 she wouldn't need to get ahold of the adopted parents to speak with her sister and they'd have absolutely no say since she is no longer a minor and legally an adult. So the whole getting a lawyer thing and that conflict makes the movie kind of hard to follow. So much that it ruins the movie for me. Her sister who should be 25 clearly isn't in this movie. You have the probation officer telling her she can't see her, but that makes no sense once again her sister is an adult and as far as I know there's no restraining order but some kind of court ordered thing they got that says she can't have any contact with her but that'd only be legitimate if she was under the age of 18. The whole thing has me thrown off and quite frankly ruins the whole movie. It's really a disappointment that the directors couldn't do a better job at piecing together the timeline. I don't know if they rushed the movie and completely slipped all of their minds. This was doable. Could have said she went away for 15 years and that would have worked but sorry 20 years the timeline just doesn't work there. So I'm being kind and giving it a 3 only because the acting was great and that alone kept me watching.
