A beautifully cynical yet true to life depiction of America's fascination with social media and gossip in the face of an existential crisis that seems invisible to most people. It's good for a laugh and also educational about asteroid threats. The science of astronomy was accurate, the hypothetical science of course, was absurdly ridiculous, yet reflects our fascination with technology and the unrealistic belief that technology is somehow going to resolve our most pressing crisis.

Great movie; It should have been called "The Forgotten Men" because it is socially relevant with a dash of irony and comedy. The second remake was not as good as it left out the plight of the destitute and unemployed.
