A complete waste of the rental fee. Terrible, wooden acting full of cliches and pouting. I can’t find anything good to say about it. Oh. Hang-on. I liked the vintage Mustang that was in the car workshop. Other than that? Nothing. Nada. I total shocker!

I'm uncertain why this is getting such rave reviews. I liked it. It was OK. But I'm getting a sense of 'King's New Clothes.' Is it because it's bravely done in black and white? Is it the juxtaposition between everyday realities and the onset of sectarian violence? Is it the Van Morrison tracks? I found it a little meandering and doesn't really go anywhere. It feels a little self-indulgent. Worth a watch but in my humble opinion, it's not the amazing piece of film that's being reported.

Ignore the pretentious critics. This was a masterpiece! Funny. Relevant. Irreverent. A stunning movie that laughed at anti-semitism, Nazis and universal hatreds. It was uplifting, and left me fully entertained and full of hope and humanity. Proof that seen through the eyes of a child, and with a sense of humour, there’s hope for the world to overcome the horrors that sadly still exist.

I’m not entirely sure what I’ve just witnessed? Was it War of The Worlds? Not sure it was. It was truly awful from start to finish. It jumped between post apocalypse (which kinda gave everything away) and the early stages after the Initial Martian landings. It was confusing, dreary and in totality, nothing really happens. I had been looking forward to this adaptation of a favourite childhood book, but was left speechless with my jaw gaping open catching flies.
