They had it. They could have made this an excellent retelling of the animated classic. There are moments of excellence and then they ruin it. Because when a female empowers herself, she can only do it through open flowing curly hair, makeup on her face and a feminine voice. (Sarcasm) God forbid hair is practically tied up and she still has mud on her face because then how could the audience know that she is feminine. The movie confuses itself time and time again.
