Great technically, unfortunately the movie left out a lot of back story and failed to fill in a lot of character development.
The movie failed to relate Rey's family tree. Palpatine is her grandfather but didn't relate to how she got her force powers. Did her parents have Jedi abilities?
Just the tip of the iceberg.
