I've read so many reviews about how it's anti-feminist and derogatory but I cannot feel the same. The Power is set in a world where women have more power than men and the book is not saying that these situations would certainly occur. It is providing an idea of a situation. It played into the idea that men and women are not psychologically different and it maintained that narrative throughout the whole book. Of course there were some disturbing things but, honestly, it added to the appeal/thrill/grotesque-ness of the book. And just simply "FICTION BOOKS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE READ IN A WAY THAT PLAYS INTO OUR FEELINGS. THEY ARE MEANT TO PROVOKE US AND ILLICIT A RESPONSE FROM US." The books ideologies are not are own and that's what matters, stop complaining by saying that "I'm a feminist and I disagree with this book." Books have to go against our beliefs.
Also the sentence structure and grammar of this book is slightly off in certain places, with POVs often switching with vigor. However, I believed that this added to its appeal.
