This movie lowkey sucked! While there were some good things, such as the references to previous Housefull films alongside the idiotic humour this franchise was built on still somewhat remaining, overall this movie was mostly bad. Firstly is the blatant sexualisation of women, where a large part of the female characters' roles are to be used as a prop for sexually related humour. This isn't out of the ordinary for many Bollywood films, but it's just accentuated to a higher degree here. I can't really complain about the rest of the humour since Housefull was built on idiotic and repetitive humour, but it did come to a point where each character's main jokes were overrepeated to a point where new material was needed. Secondly is the laziness within the production of the film. While I do understand repeating the exact same dialogues for humorous effect does work, the overall plot is just a generic murder mystery. Alongside that, the "two endings" was just a lazy way to attract more viewers, with the only real difference being who the secondary villain was, otherwise no significant plot changes were there (so if you watch 5A, don't bother watching 5B). Also, while the homages to the older Housefull films were nice, it was clearly a way of trying to save on production costs as if you were to actually account for them according to the film's plot, a wide array of inconsistencies and plot holes arise. Speaking of saving costs, at the end sequence, rather than using real photos, artificially generated images are used instead.
Sajid Nadiadwala, a rich man with a fairly successful film company, when presented with the option of either taking slightly more effort to take actual photos of the actors he specifically hired or letting a computer do the job for him at the expense of both the quality of the photo and the lives of people in urban centres near AI Datacentres (i.e. Memphis, Tennessee, USA) chooses to do the latter out of pure laziness. While most of this films flaws are from simply how the Bollywood industry works, alongside a few ones unique or accentuated by this movie specifically, by using artificial intelligence. Nadiadwala effectively proves that Housefull is a dying franchise and that he as a creator is no longer competent enough to make quality films for Bollywood standards.
Giving this 2 stars because there was some humour to be found in this film, but even then, there is bound to be some value within a pile of waste.
