Karen Johnson

I first saw this movie when I was 11 and I loved it at that time. Sally Field was already someone that I liked as an actress and this just cemented that for me. The drama of coming back to a family you had left for what you thought would be a better existence was pretty powerful stuff at the time. I watched this again years later and it still held an appeal for me and I could feel for both of the sisters and how they came to view the world. Truth be told I was born too late to live in the hippie world but probably would have been happy there based on how they portrayed the straight and narrow in the movie. The message is a good one and I think it can still resonate today.
