In episode 15 a married Catholic couple are urged to divorce so the mother can receive financial help as a single parent to pay for their son’s meds. They exclaim since they are Catholic they will not be able to receive the Eucharist if they divorce. That’s a misconception, wrong. The writers should research before they write falsehoods just for drama in a tv show seen by millions. A Catholic couple married in the church then divorced can receive Communion as long as they have no other relationships. In the Church’s eyes they are still married unless it is annulled or one of them dies.
