Don't expect a comedy Adam Sandler. Being a loveable, sinister Jewish shyster is hard work and he is devoid of morals. He is flawed and he is magic. He nails this character and presents him in a time and way that is relatable. Details were left hanging but you don't really take your eyes off Sandler enough to question. Even though it drags in places it is an outstanding film!
