A swing and a miss. The attempt was clear: bunch of family members looking to connect with others in and out of the family at Christmas. Too bad it relied on rom-com tropes and annoying slapstick to make its points. [lazy? Tired after too much turkey?] Literally everything was wrapped up in a neat Christmas bow by the end. Fine actors poorly served by a script that swerved between the predictable and the far fetched. You’ll need something stronger than eggnog.

Beautifully acted and filmed. Puts a thoughtful spin on life, death, health, terminal illness and on what makes us connect with others. There are a couple of red herrings left unresolved but overall very well done.
