This is kid and adult friendly. It isn't too much for kids to handle in the way of watching dogs fight or dogs being hit....there is no blood. And it is sappy and corny, but it is also a sweet movie. The dog becomes more real as the movie goes on. Movie magic...no real dogs. I enjoyed it and my friend's eight-year old had a huge smile on his face through much of the movie. If you love Harrison Ford...and who doesn't? He's not a major player in the movie for the first third. I kept waiting for him to become a major part of the movie and when he did, he played the sort of character that he typically always plays and which I happen to enjoy. The kid wanted to see the hedgehog movie...but I talked him into this and gave him the book which he wanted to start reading as soon as he got home. And as everyone has mentioned, the scenery is gorgeous.
