I loved these books. The magic system is unique and intuitive, the characters are complex and the revolutionary themes make my heart sing. Definitely read these before you dig into Stormlight Archive. A friend recommended that order and I’m so glad I took her advice, because as much as I loved these books, I might have loved them just slightly less if they had to follow the absolute masterpiece of SA.

Savor these books. You don’t even know yet how many thousands of pages of heart-expanding, thought-provoking, thrilling fantasy epic you have ahead of you! These characters will live with me forever. They’re complex and imperfect in ways that make them feel so familiar but it’s their decency and their virtues that made me fall in love. Can’t recommend enough.
