This endearing fictional regional Australian town is the perfect back drop. This is a place that has dust storms and bush fires as well as pristine rivers. Its no surprise that it’s residents are not ones for frivolous interests either. This landscape shapes the story telling too, in its pragmatic and no fuss approach. The characters are complex, each one of them. We are permitted to see the full scope of a regional town, not just the local pub. Though the pub is also an important character, to show us that even our Anzac legends are complicated. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend it.
