People giving this 1 star are ignorant. Maybe not your cup but this is not a 1 Star production. If you tuned in for the adrenaline rush of a traditional horror movie prepare to be disappointed. So far after one episode I am hooked. There is solid character development, and both Mendelssohn and Bateman are SOLID. Bateman’s direction is solid. The characters are believable and have depth. The writing is good. No pandering to the lowest common denominator, or crude caricatures, or heavy-handed storytelling, which is a rarity even among critically acclaimed productions. So far in this first episode the reality bending macabre elements are clear but tastefully, sparsely delivered in terms of plot and cinematography. One gets the clear sense that this is a Stephen King story but that in terms of genre, something different and interesting is happening.. I’m no pro film critic but that’s my best shot.
