Very happy that I had not read any bad reviews before making up my mind to see this movie! I am a fan of Queen and volunteered for years on behalf of AIDS organizations. I considered myself a fan of Queen and yet, based upon all of these reviews, I have realized there was much I didn't keep up with regarding Freddie Mercury's life details. I LOVE this film! I love it on many levels for depicting the complexities of being a sensitive human being. The film successfully tells the life experiences of a band who considered themselves misfits and chose to 'fit together.' The band's relationships to one another ring true. I was a member of a family band growing up and an a cappella singing group in college. The human relationships forged among Queen's members are so beautifully depicted. There are so many poignant, sacredly intimate moments (My heart felt so much love during the scene in which Freddie finds comfort in believing he and Mary can 'communicate' via bedroom lights). The movie may have inaccuracies that another fan seemed to know and be bothered by their existence. I understand wanting accuracy. However, I find myself feeling extremely thankful that those who knew Freddie Mercury well chose to create this movie and give us the legacy of adding dimensions to the knowledge we may already have from the vibrant, full and memorable music. This is a gift to us all the way around. Thank you!
