My reaction to The Third Day happened a few hours later and for a couple of days afterwards. When I woke on Monday I had this strange feeling that I had been on the Island watching the story unfold, walking and watching with the rest of the crowd, very strange. I'm sure if I had been I would have helped Sam a bit more, I really felt for him and got quite angry with the Islanders and not realizing the boy went through the same ordeal was unexpected.
In reality the cast, film crew etc. went through the same experience, it looked freezing, wet, muddy and unpleasant in some scenes, I switched on the central heating as I was chilled just watching the story unfold, hope they all had a warm bath after filming finished!!
I was very pleased that the drama portrayed a link between Christianity
and older practices, revealing fused interpretations between the new religion much older customs and practices.
