In reading some of the one-star reviews, I find myself smiling. All of us as humans have a God-given (even if one doesn't believe in such a Being) tendency of sticking to a previously-learned mindset--and sticking to it--whatever comes! I know, just ask me! Ha! Giving up preconceived notions is the toughest part for most of us. We must 'give up' or surrender those notions before we can learn anything new. That's tough to do--especially if one makes their living on preconceived notions! If we possess a character that has been formed and molded over the years (such as evolution), the most difficult part in any person's life is thinking 'What if what I have believed all these years is wrong? Can I personally risk being put to shame (if only by myself) to my outside world? This is the most solid, biblically sound, world-based and cogent explanation of Genesis history I have ever seen. And at age 77, I've seen a lot of stuff! Challenge yourself! Shoot up a quick prayer to God before you watch it and simply tell God that a) "I'm open to learning something new," and b) "I am willing to surrender my preconceived notions." See what happens, fair enough?

I desperately wanted to give Jesus His Life a full 5 Stars. It is an AMAZING production, wonderful acting and truly inspiring and inspirational in all episodes. What disappointed me was some of the thinking of the otherwise outstanding commentators in the series. Here there are very erudite scholars with great insights. However, I was saddened to hear comments through some of the commentators such as "I'm sure Jesus was surprised that..." or "What I am sure that Jesus didn't expect was..." and others. Jesus on earth was fully God and yet fully man. NOTHING catches God by surprise or shock as God knows the future. Sola Scriptura must be in our thinking at all times as the Bible tells us that God sees all and knows all from eternity past to eternity future. One of the great verses to buttress our standing in God is I Chronicles 29:11. As we each confess our sins and accept Jesus (God incarnate) as our PERSONAL Lord and Savior and seek to follow Him daily, John 15:16 reminds us that Jesus has 'chosen' and 'appointed' us to seek His will for our lives as a fisherman, preacher, teacher, scientist, business person or whatever our lot and BEAR FRUIT from our gifting. The series is wonderful history. I just wish there was 'application' along with it--but I know that should come from individual pastors in churches throughout the world.
