Mitch Jomsky

I watched this film the other night. The trailer looked to me like it was a pseudo-Pulp-Fiction-esque kinda thing. It wasn’t. I love Pulp Fiction, but was happy it wasn’t a ‘knock off’. It was entertaining, it was suspenseful, it was riveting. The sound track was perfect. Never boring, good pacing and good POV scene switching in the story telling. The cast was terrific and Jeff Bridges knocked it outta the park. Jon Hamm’s character could have been a little more fleshed out. Without spoiling this movie, I will vaguely say that I was expecting the ending to involve the survailence entity of the El Royale or Hamm’s people to step in. That was the only thing that made me feel like something was missing. Perhaps a Director’s cut or deleted scenes on the upcoming DVD will answer some of these questions I have. All in all, watch this movie!
