A beautifully crafted short love story, which is complex but simple at the same time. A mute lady who works as a cleaning staff person at a research center instantly develops an emotional connection which she could not find in the whole world of humans with an amphibian/mermaid like creature who is actually a God of Amazon and has brought to the research center for research or may be to torture him. this movie is not merely tells about a physical relationship between two different species but it shows a bond between two bodies and souls who are accepting each other the way they are. the story ends with both of them leaving the surface and forgetting their real shape and going deep inside & taking "SHAPE OF WATER" P.S. I like the last scene most where childhood marks on the neck of the girl open up like gills making her adaptable to survive in the water proving everything is meant for a reason. :)
