TLDR: Great idea, decent storyline, great acting, quiet all-round intentionally, atmospheric and worth a watch as long as you can keep your eyes on the screen.
I love survivalist movies and this did it really well. Much more focused on survival than action.
Main focus: limited script made for an enticing but stop-start storyline that depended on the actors’ abilities.
The extreme lack of dialogue is absolutely made to work because of the actors’ talents (main characters did a BANGIN’ job, seriously, if it were cast with lesser actors I feel it would have flunked hard, acting without lines seems HARD. Well done you guys). Writing felt lacking (I know they were going for sparse but really, it felt too sparse) and the sound design was unfulfilling. In fact, parts of it were so poorly done they detracted from the limited stimuli of the film, especially right at the end.
Having said that, it’s a good movie and because I’m a fan of this genre I’ll definitely watch it again.
