Not what the previews depict. I'm not sure WHY this got raving reviews at rotten tomatoes. It is definitely a far cry from a world war 1 movie. This was quite honestly the tamest and most mellow war movie I have ever seen. In the previews, they show the main character running from artillery shells. Now this DID happen in the movie, in the last 5 minutes of it. The other hour and 45 minutes was a drama of not much action. And not much happening. Definitely NOT world war 1. You'd expect some chaos for this era, especially on the front lines. There were 0 military vehicles in action. No armored cars, tanks, etc. Not even a machine gun. There were a total of maybe 10 shots fired in an hour and 45 minutes. The acting had a lot of flaws. Like how could a British soldier understand German and then he spoke to the German woman in English and she seemed to understand him...... wha???!! I honestly will find out whoever made this movie and NEVER see another movie made from this person again. Pure and simple. I rarely post reviews, but if I do, usually something sucked REALLY bad!!!!! If you want to catch up on some sleep, watch this movie and go to bed. Because that was the atmosphere in the theater when it ended. Most people weren't even getting up. Some people were stretching, and I think most of them were either like, "Geez, this SUCKED really bad" or "why did I spend $10 to watch this bogus garbage?"
