PRASUN BANERJEE

Nagarik certainly had the occasional flashes of Rittik's brilliance but definitely fell short of expectation. A past master in depicting the tribulations of the uprooted East Bengal people, his Nagarik is a good neo realistic movie but not a great one. Ketaki Dutta and Shova Sen were brilliant but rest were ordinary. Cinematography was good at times but sometimes unnecessary extreme close ups were irritating .
