Wonderful film, visually unique and stunning. You can see how much they studied the animals to portray them in animation. I think the elements of anthropomorphism only helped actually. Spoiler: I was worried it was guna get too sad (read:animal/s die) but even though my emotions were pulled that wasn't why, to my relief. Recommended for all ages, Oscar well deserved.

I had been meaning to watch when season 2 came out so perfect timing. Season 1 noticeably the script was a bit iffy at times but the story was great. Season 2, I reckon they stepped it up. Fimmel is compelling, whenever I see him in a role he plays a bit of the same unhinged character but I got past that after a few episodes & he plays well with light and dark. Supporting cast in both seasons are pretty great, I think Seini Willett from s1 needs a shout-out. If you watched the Dry and are looking for a good series in a similar vein, where the Aussie landscape is as much a character, then this series has it.

I'm the type of person who does not mind at all when a show leaves me with more questions than answers! Very much Lost vibes (even the score/sounds remind me of Lost). Not sure it really fleshed out the main family enough but it did give some singular cast members decent moments. For the reviews that talk about it being too slow yeh, look, there can be a bit too much focus on the characters' emotions and dialogue only moments. Enjoyed the supernatural/horror (right amount of gore). Try not to overthink or predict and just enjoy (especially if you've seen the time twists and turns of Lost)

This was some wacked out movie combo meshing Wreck it Ralph vs Westworld that I wasn't honestly expecting to enjoy as much as I did. It's an easy to watch mix of sci-fi-action-drama-romance-comedy. There's actually a lot of ideas that get lightly touched on but I don't think anyone's going to end the movie thinking about how NPCs feel any more than they already do. A.I is fascinating though. And the ending was more wholesome than I expected too. Always good to have some unexpected parts when the plot is highly predictable otherwise. Reynolds doesn't disappoint. Watch out for cameos from some of his fav celebrity mates!

Disappointing. Loved Bly manor and hill house but this doesn't compare. This is far too predictable and rote. As soon as the priest enters his house (you'll know the scene I mean) there wasn't a single surprise twist for me. The best things are probably the village/landscape and Bev. Bravo actress Samantha Sloyan for inhibiting one of the most despicable characters I've seen in years. None of the horror or gore made me cringe and consider stopping watching like Bev evangelising! Scariest thing in the show. And I mean this with no sarcasm and the utmost admiration for an acting job well done. Honorable mentions to the actors playing Father Paul, the Sheriff and Ed Flynn.

Look, it was far from bad but it wasn't great. A one dimensional bad guy with stock minions, a predictable betrayal (the second betrayal, I mean...the first betrayal had a very boring backstory), not enough time to flesh out these characters who have 100s of years of experience. The action was great, the ideas behind the story is great, Charlize is always great, the 4 other immortals were great, even the predictable link to a follow up was welcomed. I'd say they just didn't have enough time, definitely one better off as a tv series

Way to make me think I was watching a decent thriller with black, modern humour. I'm not even sure what I just watched but I did.not.like.it. I'll give it to the 2 female leads, that was fun & I enjoyed what they did but it's like 2 different genres of film were cut in half and merged and not in a good way. Was this meant to be some weird ode to surrealist french movies of a bygone era (all that French music...)? It's not Gone Girl and it's not Bridesmaids.

I did go into the movie with high expectations after knowing nothing about it prior to few days before. That cast? That director? Giving me dark-oceans-8 girl-powerness? Hell yeh! The movie has many moments of brilliance & Viola Davis is amazing. But after a while it felt lacking in subtlety, and I don't mean the sociopolitical messages, I mean it felt dumbed-down as if they'd cut in scenes with Neeson that were not warranted at all. For example (trying not to give spoilers): that one moment of Viola brilliance where she visits Amanda & the pooch is scratching & whimpering at the closed door of a room & Veronica knows! She f-ing knows and her internal struggle is visually a thousand words in a few seconds! Superb acting!! Next minute: unnecessary scene of door being opened ruins any kind of build up within the story's twist and from there CONTINUES to sneak in unnecessary scenes that make me wonder if they thought the audience was too stupid to understand a plot twist or if they changed the story midway. Overall a good movie, but not great.
