If I only knew then, what I know now…
After reading this book, I am hoping that people who are contemplating divorce, currently involved in the process or are still suffering the aftermath of divorce - read this book! To begin with, the legal information is priceless, to both your pocketbook and your sanity. For example, I learned the truth about the process - how difficult and expensive it really is to go to trial and that there are a multitude of options available. I learned that there are options when it comes to alimony - I was told that it is an all or nothing scenario. I learned how mediation works - it can be a variety of scenarios, not just a couple ‘on the verge’ and one person trying to bring them together.
“Powered by inspiration not fear” - this is the key takeaway for me from this gem of a book. I went through unnecessary anguish because no one, especially my lawyer who should have, told me that I didn’t have to.
The second half of this book connected with my soul on multiple levels. It has taken me years on my own to come to the realization that divorce is an event that can springboard one’s life to greater heights. I learned that I didn’t make mistakes - I was living my life and learning lessons. I learned that my ex wasn’t a monster - he was living his life and learning lessons as well.
This book has so many “Aha!” moments that my kindle version is already electronically dog-eared throughout. I have already ordered the paperback - when I find a good thing, I like to share! As a life coach, my goal is to help people find and achieve their best version of themselves and I will share Ms. Pacetti’s book with my clients because I believe it will help people allow themselves to find their silver lining during turbulent times. Her focus on the children, the family unit and what really matters during dramatic transitions in life will help.
Again, if I had this book in my toolbelt years ago… what might I have accomplished earlier? What struggles might I have avoided for my children?
