'You Were Never Really Here' should probably win some prize for the most appropriate title! Why, this movie has a story based on some very popular novella. It has one hell of a good actor in a lead role. And they say the director, she is indeed an acclaimed auteur or something. But what about us poor audience? I don't know about you. But I was never really there!

Even the best laid plans of mice & men can go wrong, so what if the mice are as big names as Gerard Butler, Peter Mullan and co. And no, there are no macho men in this movie, nor their equally macho plans. The Vanishing keeps on languishing and languishing, until it finally crosses the finish line without a whimper. What should end with tears ends up inducing an unsupressed yawn or half. Long. And lugubrious!That's the only word I can think of for my experience. Your mileage or vocabulary may vary ...

It's The Godfather of spy movies! Nothing less than a masterpiece!!

Galveston is not bad per se. It's noirish & brooding, tries to avoid cliches. And that's saying a lot about a movie thesedays. Ben Foster is on a roll after Leave No Trace, and, here, too, he leaves his mark, not just his trace. But then again, while watching such movies why do I always get a feeling that I have seen this thing before a million times?

Very nice movie. Scary at times. But mostly, touching!

Spectral is okay, until you learn the ridiculous reason why these bad things are snuffing out American delta team & co. in this fictional Moldovan war. I mean, what? Bose - Einstein Condensate? That's what these ghosts are? Really? If you can still digest this explanation, go ahead and watch this flick. As for me, I couldn't.

Bad Samaritan is simply bad. Our hero is nothing more than an overacting infant. And the villain is a laughing stock - more like some pathetic comic relief trying his best to come across as a raving n' ranting lunatic. Not a whit about this overtly derivative flick passes muster as believable. One star out of five!

Vague, vacant, vapid, vacuous. That's El aviso for you. Consider it The warning!

A clever, well-made movie for the most part. Alas, the directors decided to play too smart and lost their game in the end. Yes, it's fun to watch. Just three stars outta five all the same!

It's a B-grade The Exorcist- rip off, with familiar found-footage lackluster. Actors are surprisingly good, though. Overall, I would rather suggest you to avoid this doorway. There's no devil here. Just too much of clichéd devilry on the director's part! Two stars!!
