Saand Ki Aankh
Wow what a fabulous movie. Superbly directed. Taapse Pannu and Bhoomi Pednekar both excel as Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar the sharp shooters who find their talent late in life. The supporting cast is also good. The movie leaves you with a feel good factor. There is a lot of humour throughout the movie but at the same time one feels like bashing up their retrograde men folk. Their attitude to the women of the house left me fuming. The thought that it was a real story never left my mind. Hats off to the real Prakashi and Chandro Tomar who had the guts and the gumption to nurture their talent and to pave the way for their daughters. They don't want their daughters to suffer the same fate as themselves and encourage the girls and make it possible for them to get wings and attain their dreams. I salute them How they manage to keep their medal winning competitions a secret from their husband is just too good. Their struggles are heart wrenching and at the same time heart warming. The unity between the womenfolk of the house is so infectious. More than sisters in laws the women are friends. There is no place for jealousies or petty fights. Tho it is the two grandmoms and their daughters who win the actual medals, for the womenfolk of the house it is an achievement of all of them. 😚. Most times the world laughs at the grandmoms before they prove their mettle. But the maharani who is also an ace shooter and a competitor is grace personified specially in the dinner scene.
The movie is a must watch. A "Bull's Eye" in all deptts - acting, direction, story, entertainment, positivity, mother's love, friendship, women empowerment.....
