I enjoyed The Eulogy immensely. The story of Geoffrey Tozer is well presented and the film explores & attempts to unravel, for the audience, the mystery of why an Australian, of such recent times who was world renowned as such an extreme talent in Europe, is unknown to most Australian people. How was his fame & fortune in life thwarted? Who is to blame? Why does Paul Keating 'protesteth' so much in his Eulogy of Geoffrey Tozer? What sort of friend was he? What sort of mother seeks such a driven & lonely life for her child? Does the lover offer pleasure or pain? Do 'The Establishments' have blood on their orchestral hands?
The beloved Richard Gill is our detective in The Eulogy and the film is well crafted as it presents a development of facts to lead the audience to some realization of the tragedy & passion of the circumstances surrounding the death of Tozer. This is a passionate film and a story well told. I found The Eulogy to be unforgettable!
