Having been an early-teen when this first was originally released waaaaaay back in 1987, I remember when Siskel & Ebert reviewed this one and discussed all of the pre-release hype surrounding the production of the film. I was intrigued, I remember, but not enough to make it to the theatre to spend $$ on it. I think we decided that "The Three Amigos" would be funnier (and a better run for our money, which it kinda was, now that I have seen both movies several times now.)
But, despite such a judgment, it wasn't at all a BAD film, except for those moments when the Warren Beatty character acts dumber than he should be. THAT aspect of the movie was a bit excessive and overplayed.
Otherwise, I was laughing out loud pretty much constantly throughout.
