Should you buy it???
My short review is, this is a great open world game that is reminiscent of many eras, including; Rare's N64 era (Jetforce Gemini and Banjo Kazooie), Insomniac ps2 (Ratchet & Clank), and Bethesda over a decade ago (Oblivion and Skyrim). I can even claim the game has some spirit of Breath of the Wild. Costumization in this game does not lack, and artistic direction, while strange, is varied and can satiate your hunger for something different in our time of hyper realism. With a decent in depth battle system reminiscent of devil may cry's gun-fu, gorgeous graphics that almost feel next gen, and a very bustling open world, this game should not be slept on. However, this game may fall short for some where it's indie roots begin to show. A very simplistic story (although an adorable and fun one), combos that lack any real weight on contact, and messy, outdated skill trees leave this game feeling somewhat dated. Still, I feel as though some of these issues are forgiven when considering this is a first entry from an indie studio, and variety really takes the front seat here. My wish is for this game to do well, because when appreciated for what it is, especially in a world of shallow, buggy games, this game is not only tightly woven with few bugs, but it does bring some familiar and fresh ideas to the table. I think a lot of these issues can be remedied with a second chance and a higher budget. It's definitely a buy, but mostly because it is a fun game, and it would be worth it to support the developers.
