To start this off, I'm not going to be too harsh on this game. It upsets me to no end that GTA is swimming in an overabundance of content, basking in all of Rockstar's attention while the neglected second son sits lonesome in the corner, waiting for his share of attention for 8 months, but with those frustrations put aside, this is a good game! The single player is enthralling. Its cup runneth over in the detail department, every action having a meticulously crafted animation (sometimes annoyingly so for a few, but I adore the extra animation details). The story is god tier, and the visuals are gorgeous. And you can't forget about the customization! Morgan is a canvas, a mold for the players to shape with various outfits, hair styles and lengths, and the weapon design is magnificent. Bugs aside, I have nothing but praise for the campaign, but unfortunately, the missing two stars in my review have clearly gone somewhere, and that somewhere is the multiplayer. Now don't get me wrong. The multiplayer is a very fun experience... When it works. However, you'd best get an old friend catch up on eachothers' day, cause you are going to spend a laughably long time in loading screens. Between the soft locking glitches of interactables and mission markers not spawning, the hard locking glitches that cause the came to freeze cold, and the horrible server connection, you're going to be getting about 40 minutes of playtime every hour you sit in front of your moniter/TV, but those 40 minutes are quickly wiped away as the game will wipe you of any progress you've obtained, forcing you through a ground hog day event of those same 40 minutes. And don't even get me started on the economy. You either don't pay real life money, or you don't win. It's like a Korean MMO. The amount of cash-grabbing and forced monetization is sickening. You either pay $700 for a regular revolver (You get around $20 for the really well paying missions btw, often less) or fork over some money to buy microcurrency and wash all your problems away with money. Need a better horse? You'd best hand in that cash or you're gonna be stuck with the beginner horse for an unreasonable amount of time. That rawhide vest must be an eyesore by now. Sure you could buy an equally ugly coat for $200, or you could just cash in some gold and get this not so ugly coat instead! It's a gross amount of microtransactions for an unfinished product. Morale of the story: buy it for the single player, but please. Pleaaase! Stay away from the multiplayer until RS gets that GTA fever out of their heads and actually give this game some post launch support.
