McAvoy is such a good actor. I’ll definitely look up some of his other films. Samuel Jackson is so out of character in this film, and, as always, superb. The psychiatrist definitely has issues. Patients like this deserve to be locked away forever. Unfortunately, if you look around at the types of crimes being committed on our streets, it seems that many of them are out roaming freely. What’s my take on this film? When I watch this film, although this isn’t portrayed in it, I think of the consequences of defunding mental health facilities, leading to inmates being treated as out patients: when the criminally insane get bail, or as today, released without bail, and not jail. Gotham City at its worst.
