A captivating and astonishing moment of pure, evocative filmcraft the likes of which I have rarely seen. After watching the first Small Axe I was surprised to see a black party left alone but this was so much stronger for it, and developed a coherent and very real magic all of its own. One of the best things I’ve seen in years.
