Back from a midnight showing, I feel a bit drained, a bit disappointed but at least it's done now.
There was a moment I thought the film was going to surprise me, Rey does something that would cause her to doubt absolutely everything she is; but the ramifications of this are negated pretty much two scenes later.
It was pretty and well shot, without too much pointless CGI and no lens flare but it was still a predictable and unsatisfying mess.
I didn't come out of the cinema tonight smiling. It should have felt like the end of something special. It didn't.
