I might be biased, but I love this game. I'm not a huge nerd, and despite owning for well over 4 years now (nearly 5), I've barely reached level 100, and just finally focused on obtaining all weapons and max ranking the classes.
The game has still held up, and I enjoy it as a shooter. No, it doesn't do WW1 justice. So if you're one of those people who dislike anything with a smidge of historical accuracy, and complain about it online, then this definitely isn't for you. Stick to Verdun.
Despite it's major historical flaws, I personally think it did well getting people into the history and weaponry behind the first world war. Even got me into it, but that wasn't hard since I was a WW2 nerd then as well.
Game play is clean now, I barely run across bugs. Then again, this is nearly 5 years since gameplay was released.
It's a worthwhile game, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon. And happy to say it's my first Battlefield Game as well.
One con I can think of, is being behind cover, yet somehow dying anyways when being shot at. That's annoying as hell. Like seriously.
But the games pros make up for it's minor flaws.
