I gave a '2-star' so not to totally dishearten them; however, this was a very disjointed, superficial mash-up, with no focus, purpose nor thesis.
The title says ' Expedition Happiness'; where is the happiness?
We endured a couple of soft, unprepared twenty-somethingers who genuinely have no knowledge, education, profession in documentary, travel, life experience. As others have mentioned, this is transparently a promotional sequence made of a series of tik tok/instagram-like vignettes titled under the guise of 'travel'. They edited in a few scenic pans, never clearly stating where they were, what is special/prominent/noteworthy of that location; just a general pan shot of 'oooh, look how pretty' and then complaining of how uncomfortable they were, how things 'are so hard and unfair', 'why can't things be easy', poor us, please cater to our sensitive egos.
And that poor dog. I appreciate that they love their dog. However, they can barely take care of themselves let along a large Mountain breed trapped endless hours in a sweltering tin-can bus. And then proceeding to take him into the extreme dessert!!! Yes, I yelled very bad language at your selfishness. It appears Rudi survived; I hope there was no long-term damage done.
Now, IF you plan to do another such 'film', DO YOUR RESEARCH! FOCUS on one primary theme and one sub-plot. You were all over the place and lost your audience. Watch other travel docs and learn! Find your niche and focus on that. Define your target market and take the time to properly research, design your plan and stay focused on your theme/thesis. And invest in proper equipment!
I did enjoy the music. Pleasant undertone and congenial voice.
I do hope they take these reviews as an opportunity to learn, grow, improve. There are many great lessons and suggestions in these reviews. People have taken the time to critic your work; heed them. I didn't see many that were hurtfully negative, other than extreme concern for poor Rudi; and justifiably so. It was a very poor decision to bring him on such an extreme, unprepared trek.
Wishing them viel Glueck und gute Reise xo
