What a boring vanilla show, it could have been MUCH better. I feel really let down and patronised by the amount of convenient soft 'Disney friendly' action. The series is drowning in embarrassing character gaze exchanges in every scene change, I'm waiting to see a funny compilation of this appearing on youtube anytime now.
The real score: there is no grit in this at all, except the sand in the now over-used planet, Tatooine. The multi-coloured power-ranger speeder bikes summed up the entire season...weak and cringe! The story was all over the place, there was no complexity or depth to any of the characters. We should have spent more chronological order seeing Boba escape Sarlac pit, rather than a two-minute flashback, we have waited to see what happened to Boba for three decades and we ran over this segment within a number of minutes? All of the episodes feature very odd side stories which are so basic and childlike If we are to contemplate what the audience of Star Wars is nowadays and what the initial intention of Geroge Lucas's Star Wars story was to add or raise in culture, we might have had a different outcome but this series tries to cater to kids and loyal star wars fans who are happy just to be in the Star Wars universe regardless of the content. The TV show industry has very high standards nowadays with the likes of GOT, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Handmaid's tale etc, this is simply to sloppy in contrast to the titans of TV now. Star Wars films once occupied this Titan spot in the film industry but these season's rush-make-rush-make-produce-produce-produce are bringing down it's unique qualities we once loved.
You could clearly see the episode featuring the Mandolorian and Luke had a clear budget difference and much more effort and consideration was made in this episode but then returned to vanilla Boba. Star Wars is over saturating the market and is a danger to its legacy. Not good, very disappointed.
