I find it surprising that Western viewers can genuinely find "The Kardashians" interesting, considering its emphasis on flaunting wealth rather than exploring dating, new friendships, and family drama as the previous show, KUWTK, did. Personally, I fail to be impressed by the ostentatious displays of wealth showcased on the show. The opulent homes featured resemble my corporate office or a high-end coffee shop. Furthermore, many of the clubs they frequent are accessible to the general public. While the private jet initially grabs attention, its novelty quickly wears off, and the superficial allure of glitz and glamour isn't enough to keep me engaged.
Additionally, the show's portrayal of drama disappoints. Instead of witnessing conflicts unfold, we are often presented with post-event scenes of individuals tearfully recounting what transpired. This approach fails to deliver the engaging and captivating storytelling I expected.
Overall, "The Kardashians" failed to meet my expectations. It lacks the substance and engaging storytelling that made its predecessor, KUWTK, enjoyable for me.
