I am impressed with the talent on this show. The acts, themselves, have been great. The judging, however, is a big thumbs down. The “golden buzzer” thing is no good. Depending on which judge has the golden buzzer that particular night, the results could be completely different. It seems very unfair to the contestants. But, at least, I have agreed with the golden buzzer picks thus far. I absolutely HATE the so called ‘super fans’ that are supposed to represent the entirety of America. What criterion was used in selecting these super fan representatives, if they even exist at all? These super fans obviously adore singing acts. Each week, thus far, at least one singing act has gone through to the finals and, in many cases, BOTH winners were singing acts. I HATE this. I mainly watch AGT for the variety acts. THAT is what I want to see. These people definitely don’t represent ME with their votes. I have disagreed with most of their choices. There are far too many singing acts and dance groups on this show altogether. The format of this show needs to be rethought COMPLETELY. Maybe they could have done a Champions Show each year for the next several years by having a World Champion Singer one year, and each consecutive year a World Champion Daredevil, World Champion Comedian, World Champion Child Star, World Champion Animal Act, etc. etc. Or, at least put all of the singers on one night of the semi-finals, the dancers on the next week and so on, so that we don’t end up with all singing acts in the finals. It would have given all the different types of acts a fighting chance of winning. Overall, i love seeing all of these talented people performing again, but strongly dislike the way the judging was set up.
