First off I'm not gonna go SUPER in-depth right now, mainly just wanted to go ahead and give my Google rating so it will contribute to it's standing in the first week. I feel VERY confident doing so before finishing the game because I have ~130ish hours into it so far and have slain 3 of the main story-line lords; Godrick, Rannala, and Radahn....in that order. I've also defeated countless area/dungeon bosses... literally sooo many. I freaking love how many boss encounters is in this game.
Also noteworthy is I'm not being paid for this review or compensated in any way. This is pure love. I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition and I'm happy with my decision to do so. To be fair I'm very biased to the FromSoft-Soulsborne games, I've played and beat Demon Souls, DS1, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. With DS3 being my favorite by a long shot, but I absolutely loved them all and consider them to be amongst the best games created. I will add that Elden Ring has already toppled that list and dethroned DS3 as my favorite.
I'm playing on Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X at the time of writing this. The gameplay has been almost flawless. Whatever the frame rate is, it has been to my satisfaction with only a couple of instances of getting choppy. But I'm not a performance snob either...as long it it looks as good as this game does and runs as crisp as it has then I'm satisfied. A couple hiccups I've experienced is one issue where you clip into the rocks while attempting a backstab on a wax-miner enemy, and cannot get back out without fast traveling to a grace site. This is repeatable and have noted others having this issue as well. The only other thing to happen was in the academy you can jump onto a window ledge and clip thru into the abyss and see the entirety of the fort without obstacles or walls (only items & enemies). You can't get stuck or run around after clipping, it's only the camera view. If you try to proceed further you fall off the window and onto the floor again without any issue. Couple more noteworthy bits: I'm using a lvl 100 strength build and taking my dear sweet time trying every jump and smacking every wall.
TBC....
