I was excited to watch it at the beginning but within 5min into the show, I was disappointed with the development of the story. Too exaggerated, added too much spice beyond realism with the witch & Phoenix (overdone with it, trying too hard to make it related to Chinese culture). The directing is surprisingly bad. The saving grace are the actors & art direction. Well casted with good acting. Beautiful designed - costume & sets & visually nice. I like the fight choreography but it’s not original. Copy from past Chinese Hong Kong Kung Fu movies. Conclusion: Bad script & directing... Great acting, visually artistic ... Watch it without expection & don’t believe in the hype. Disney just wasted its $200million. Could have been a better job done with this. Whoever greenlight this needs to do more homework next time. But the music at end credit are nice - both English & Mandarin. Impressed by actress singing too.
