Only the first episode was good and the rest were painful to watch.
I’ve been following the series with interest, particularly because of its portrayal of Aang’s journey from a whimsical airbender to a formidable Avatar who overcomes Fire Lord Ozai, with the support of his friends and former foe, Zuko. The original anime depicted a beautiful evolution of characters like Sokka and Katara, who grew into their best selves. However, if they get to season 2 and continue to undermine the growth and unique qualities of characters like Toph—as it seems to have done with others—I might stop watching. In comparison, the movie adaptation, despite its unforgivable flaws, seemed to capture the essence of Zuko’s struggle with anger and daddy issues more effectively.
The writers didn't have to reinvent the wheel, all they had to do was follow the script from the anime and it would have been a great show.
It is clear now why the original writers left.
I had to rewatch the anime to purge this adaptation from my brain cells.
