I grew up and loved the animated series of Avatar. The show had a lot of story, character development, and memorable moments with every single character regardless of how significant they were. Every character had their own story to tell and we get to watch each of them grow throughout their journeys on the show. This movie was supposed to be based on the animated series, however a lot of important characters, narrative, and plot had to be cut out in order to make this into a proper length movie. I understand how this may be disappointing to a lot of fans including myself, however this movie kept a lot of the important plot and was supposed to introduce viewers to the universe of Avatar whom may have never watched the animated series. I believe that this movie honestly did pretty good in its summary adaptation of the first season. I'm sure viewers who watch this movie without the show were pulled in and were interested in learning more about the Avatar universe. I would've loved to see the remaining 2 seasons be filmed and see where the film goes and how it differs and relates to the show. Unfortunately the Avatar series just has too much plot, narrative, and character development in one season to be able to fit into a theater appropriate film length, it was just never meant to be.
On the bright side, Netflix is in the works of having the animated show be made into a LIVE ACTION SHOW, not movie, with new casting and retelling the story. I'm pumped for it and hope everyone else is too. Thank you for reading :)
