EDIT: I had 2 stars. But after playing 130 hours the game is fantastic. The battle system isn’t my favorite or is the cityscape. But damn if the game isn’t fun. Not 5 stars. But definitely 4. It still doesn’t have the same fun feeling legends arceus did. This game feels more like an entirely different game with Pokemon as a skin.

The game could be very fun. On ps5 it runs well. But my lord the games pacing and forced story cinematic’s is horrible. Any long time MH fans will have to just suffer until you get to HR. It’s a very long winded movie that you can play every now and then. No exploration really, no hunting to just get parts to make stuff. Plus the online is convoluted and clear as mud how it works. They took Rises simple multiplayer aspect and butchered it. It’s confusing for no reason. Game is like 3/10 because of the forced story and cutscenes. It would be 8/10 if it didn’t force the stuff.

It’s lack Luster, the gameplay is clunky and disappointing. The graphics are pretty good and the music is good. Other than that this game is only protected by nostalgia. Not that great for being on hold for so long.

This was and is probably the best FF they have created. Late to review it by a few years. But it’s much better than the disaster of ff7 remake. The story, the graphics, the music, the battle mechanics all amazing.

Great game it seems like. But it keeps crashing on the switch version making it pretty unplayable. Disappointed I spent 40 dollars on a game I can’t even play.
